So you want to add a room - maybe expand your living room, add a play room, increase the size of your master bedroom - there's so many places you can add space. First off, consider what the space is to be used for and do you have enough room on your property? Other things to consider are what are the local ordinances from your city or county? Many cities having zoning restrictions, including how close you can build from the curb area of your street. Also, you'll want to consider how your addition framing will change the roof line of your house and if you can match your existing shingles - maybe it's time to re-roof? Also, if you end up adding a lot of extra space, does your current electrical panel support your new power requirements?
